Softball is a recreational sport played by approximately 10,000 men and women in the UK. It is similar in concept to both baseball and rounders in terms of how the game is played. Ten players (traditionally five men and five women) on either team score runs by hitting a ball and players running around all the bases (either in one go or base by base) and crossing the home plate. It is played at various levels of play and the Great Britain Team are the current European Champions.
