British Milers Club Grand Prix 2007 BMC Grand Prix Final Saturday 25 August The Grand Prix final produced its usual crop of PBs and outstanding races with the British athletes facing stiff competition from overseas guests.
Bath University's Gareth Balch won the men's 800m A race in a time of 1:48.06 in front of Will Fitts (USA - 1:48.18) and Finland's (1:48.86).
Victoria Griffiths from Liverpool won the women's 800 A race in 2:01.49 ahead of Celia Brown of Rugby & Northampton (2:01.56) and Liz Bratihwaite of Herts Phoenix (2:03.07).
The men's 1500 A saw an American victory with Phil Sakala coming home first in 3:45.25 and Finland's Niclas Sandells second 3:45.85 with Altrincham's Matthew Barnes 3rd in 3:45.91.
Katrina Wootton of Bedford took the women's 1500 A race in 4:11.29 ahead of Nicola Gauld (4:12.72) and Sweden's Kajsa Haglund (4:12.99)
The men's mile went to Jon Rankin from the USA in 3.57.66 with Tom Lancashire of Bolton/Florida State University in second (3:58.03) and Newport's Tom Lancashire third in 3:59.18
In the women's 5000 metres Vicky Gill took the honours in 16:07.72 ahead of Charlotte Purdue of Aldershot Farnham & District and Gloucester's Emily Pidgeon was third 16:19.49.

Trafford BMC Saturday 11 August Updated 17 August 2007 The BMC has hosted the prestigious Emsley Carr Mile for 2007. The Emsley Carr Mile is an annual invitation 1 mile track race originally introduced to encourage the achievement of the first 4 minute mile. The Emsley Carr Mile Trophy comprises a book, bound in red Morocco leather, containing a history of mile running throughout the world since 1868 and signatures of many of the world's leading milers, including Paavo Nurmi, Sydney Wooderson, John Landy and Roger Bannister. Solihull BMC Saturday 21 July Updated 25 July 2007 Simon Deakin of Leeds City took the UKEI Mens 3000m A race at the BMC meeting at Solihull ahead of Luke Gunn (Derby) and Frank Tickner of Wells City. Deakin's winning time was 7:59.43.
Adrian Blincoe from New Zealand led the field home in the 1500m A race in a time of 3:39.70 just ahead of Belgrave's Neil Speaight (3:40.43) and Bolton's Tom Lancashire (3:40.63).
Michelle Hutchison from Hillingdon won the women's 1500m A in 4:18.50, almost a second ahead of Hannah Whitmore from Charnwood and Edinburgh Southern's Freya Murray.
The BMC Peter Coe Men's mile was claimed by Luton's Daniel Clorley in 4:19.60. Melissa Courtney of Poole won the women's equivalent the BMC Frank Horwill Mile in 4:52.11.

Triumph for Pavey at Watford 30 June 2007 Jo Pavey was an impressive winner of the ten thousand metres title at the BMC Grand Prix at Watford despite torrential rain which blighted the meeting. Her time 31:26.94 was easily good enough to qualify her for Osaka. Watch the closing stages in our exclusive video on this page.

Other athletes who enjoyed a successful evening in the rain by achieving B standard times for the World Championships were: Andrew Lemoncello – 3,000m Chase – 8:29.96

Rimmer & Dean lead the way in Manchester 12 June 2007 Michael Rimmer and Hattie Dean were the star turns at Saturday's British Milers Club Grand Prix meeting at Manchester's Sports City.
Rimmer came home in front of a class field to win the 800 metres A race and clinch a B qualifying standard time for the World Championships in Osaka.
Meanwhile, Dean (Hallamshire/Sheffield Uni) won the 3000m steeplechase in an A standard time of 9:43.11 ahead of Helen Clitheroe and Tina Brown.
